Malaria remains main cause of death in Cunene
Ondjiva - Malaria constitutes the main cause of death in southern Cunene province, said Monday a local health official.
Speaking on the World Health's Day, to be marked on 07 April, the Health's provincial director in Cunene, Eduardo Haiumba, said that malaria hits mainly children under the age of five and pregnant women.
The health official put malaria at 77.4 percent in comparison to other diseases that causes 47.6 percent the death rate.
He also blamed the increase of the cases of malaria on floods recorded for three consecutive years.
