Tuberculosis testing starts up in Qaqortoq, Greenland this week, Sermitsiaq reports.
Schoolchildren are being investigated in collaboration with the school, along with pregnant women and newborns.
Investigations in Qaqortoq is part of Greenland's nationwide strategy to combat tuberculosis, as the number of people infected in Greenland now stands at the levels found in developing countries.
In order to curb TB infection rates, Greenland's parliament adopted a five-year plan to fight the disease in 2007.
This strategy called for the population in south Greenland to receive lung x-rays every two years.
