TUBERCULOSIS: Angola

Caxito — Some 780 cases of tuberculosis were diagnosed in 2010 in northern Bengo province, said Monday the provincial supervisor of Programme for Control of Tuberculosis, Luís Miguel Neto de Carvalho, who quoted significant increase in comparison to the previous period.

Luís de Carvalho said that the local health officials also recorded five deaths, and 18 patients had relapsed back into TB, during the referred period.
At least 397 cases, out of above mentioned number, were positive as the patients continue following up the treatment accordingly with guidance of physicians and nurses
