The future of A.G. Holley Hospital in Lantana and how Florida cares for tuberculosis patients is in limbo for another year, as lawmakers seek an alternative to the under-used facility.
Lawmakers have asked the Department of Health for the past two years to find replacement options for the 100-bed state-run hospital, which currently houses 25 patients. By again asking for options, they've frustrated county officials and the University of Florida, which hoped to create a new center at FAU's Jupiter campus.
