A bill sponsored by Barack Hussein Obama and co-sponsored by Joe Biden in the U.S. Senate would cost U.S. taxpayers an additional $65 billion per year in foreign aid if it is approved.
The Global Poverty Act (GPA), Senate Bill # 2433, was introduced in the Senate on December 7, 2007. In addition to Obama & Biden, Democrats Diane Feinstein of California and John Kerry of Massachusetts are in favor of the bill.
A February 14, 2008 World Net Daily (WND.com) article says Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media (AIM) has reported that the GPA would dedicate 0.7% of the U.S. Gross National Product which is defined as: The value of all final goods & services produced in the U.S.A. in 1 year, plus income earned by American citizens abroad, minus income earned by foreigners in the U.S.A., to foreign aid which would amount to $845 billion over 13 years. That amount would be on top of the money the U.S already gives away to foreign countries.
Kincaid quoted Obama as saying that the GPA is the “type of legislation we must make a priority” and “It must be a priority of U.S. foreign policy to commit to eliminating poverty and ensuring every child has food, shelter, and clean drinking water. The bill will demonstrate our promise & commitment to the developing world our commitment to the global economy must extend to helping workers & small farmers everywhere. It is time that the U.S. makes it a priority to meet the goal of helping those who are struggling day to day and declares that it is official U.S. policy to eliminate global poverty.”
The bill, in Section 5, defines individuals living in global poverty as those living on less than $2 per day and those individuals living in “extreme” global poverty as those living on less than $1 per day.
In addition, the bill will institute the United Nations Millennium Summit goals as benchmarks for U.S. spending on global poverty.
The bill would also bind the U.S. to United Nations treaties on banning small arms & light weapons which would basically eliminate our 2nd Amendment rights, the International Criminal Court which would make American citizens subject to arrest for violating United Nations edicts, the Kyoto Protocol or Global Warming treaty which would destroy the U.S. economy by requiring Americans to pay a tax to the U.N. on the use of fossil fuels (every time you purchase a gallon of gasoline you would be paying a tax to the UN), and the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child which basically says that parents have no right to discipline their children if such discipline could cause stress to the child.
The GPA, in Section 4 (a), “Requires the President of the U.S.A. to develop & implement a comprehensive strategy to reduce global poverty, eliminating extreme global poverty & reducing by 1/2 the proportion of people who live on less than $1 per day.”
The fact that this bill is completely Unconstitutional goes without saying and does not seem to bother Obama & Biden. And it must be realized that the money Obama is talking about literally giving away will come from us as taxpayers.
How is Obama going to deliver on the promises he is making to his followers and fund this bill at the same time? It can’t be done, it’s that simple.
This bill must not be allowed to become law and I cannot urge you strongly enough to call your Representatives & Senators and tell them to vote no on the Global Poverty Act immediately.
