ATLANTA (AP) -- The patient at the center of a 2007 tuberculosis scare is asking a federal appeals court to revive his lawsuit against the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta will consider Andrew Speaker's claims on Tuesday that the federal agency divulged private medical information during the scare.
Speaker became the first American quarantined by the federal government since 1963 after he flew from Europe to Montreal and drove over the U.S. border despite warnings from federal officials not to board another international flight.
The CDC has said hundreds of passengers who traveled with Speaker were tested and none was found to have tuberculosis.
