Concern grows as suicide rates skyrocket among the country's more than 600 million farmers. Mounting debts, international competition and climate change are all being blamed as the reason for a rising number of Indian farmers who are taking their own lives.
Official figures say at least 17,000 farmers committed suicide in 2009.
