Since the start of a Catholic Relief Services nutrition program in southern Haiti, the child malnutrition rate in targeted communities has been reduced from 30 percent to 3 percent. The “Maternal and Child Health Nutrition Program” (MCHN) works with a network of community volunteers and takes an integrated approach to set up rally posts, strengthen health centers and create mothers’ clubs.
