Namibe – At least 427 cases of pulmonary and extra-pulmonary tuberculosis were reported from January to April of this year, by the Provincial Department of Public Health of Namibe, more than 127 cases compared to the same period of last year.
Speaking Friday to ANGOP, the provincial supervisor of tuberculosis, Francisco Gula, stressed that this number, included 226 new cases, 70 relapses, 152 negatives, from which 22 are under 15 years of age, four extra-pulmonary, which resulted in five deaths.
Francisco Gula noted that the municipality seat tops the statistics with 303 cases, followed by Tômbwa with 102.
The patients with this condition are at the stage of consultation clinics, where they are assisted.
